Im trying to find pictures of original cars. Preferably in good condition to see the actual color on the yellow cars. Looking at the original 87 GM ad with the 87 formula, the color looks a lot brighter and more vivid than most of the cars I have seen. I remember the 87 yellow cars being more of a pale yellow. I have also read that this color had a tendancy to fade, so would like to see what it SHOULD look like. Thanks

 

Do a google image search for yellow Camaro. Some will show up. I also hate to recommend this, but IROC-Z.com has picture galleries. Look in the 85-87 pictures. You'll see some. Don't look at any of his data as there is a lot of misinformation there.

 

Unfortunately, this isn't the best pic because of the sun, but YES the 87's are more pale than bright.

Here is my 87 yellow gold IROC. All the yellow cars faded really bad. I belive the paint is a single stage. The 1/4s are the only parts of my car that haddnt been repainted and they were VERY faded, almost white. But the floor was very bright. Hope this helps.
