To make a long store short I am trying to collect ALL of the 3rd gen camaro dash emblems and I belive I have them all now. But I am still kinda skeptical as to weather or not they made the 5.0L H.O. Z28 emblem in purple. I have a standard Z28 emblem in purple and a Crossfire injection emblem in purple but I am unsure if they were the only ones. Could all the 5.0 H.O. owners please let me know what color your dash emblems are. Below is my collection minus the 1982 indy 500 emblem which is in the mail as I type this. Thank you.

I always thought the purple ones were just sun faded?

I haven't seen a purple Z28/Crossfire dash emblem either(not saying they didn't make them).The one in my '83 and the other 2 I have are all red.Aaron7 could have made the point on the reason why they are purple.

Hmmm.. I never really considered that. But Ive seen quite a few of them. Also the emblems arent in direct sunlight very often because of the major dash over hang. I was kinda under the impression they were a 1982 only emblem. Which would explain why I havent seen a purple 5.0L H.O. emblem. Thanks for the insight guys. Im going to continue looking and hopefully settle it once and for all. Thanks again.

Sleeper_Z you could have found another of the '82 only items.If the so the list keeps growing on the first year differences(front seat belts,door sills,door emblems when ordered with power windows,only 3 speed auto and 4 speed manual offered,red Z28 wheel cap emblems etc).Having an '83 is hard enough finding some parts it makes me glad she's not an '82.

i have a red dash Z28 emblem from an 82 Z28 it is still mounted on the a/c delete dash shell i pulled from the car

Thats kinda what Im thinking. As far as I know all the cars that Ive seen the purple emblem in have been 82s. Hopefully I can get more people to post and let me know what there cars have. Thanks again guys.
