My 82 trans am doesn't have WS-6 or WS-7 .... So what suspension does it have. I've read past "posts" that pretty much say WS-6 is 4 wheel disc brakes and a WS-7 is the same but with drum brakes.
My car was originally in my opinion a lightly optioned car. 14 inch N-89's, drum brakes, LG-4 auto. So why doesn't my build sheet show a suspension code.
Probably just a base suspension car since it corners like a semi. Now I have a set of 84 WS-6 trans am sway bars and springs however I have heard later front sway bars can't be used on a 82 is there any truth to this. Something to do with the sway bars bushing bracket having different bolt hole spacing or something to that affect

im not sure i have forgotten now but i think the 4 bolt top steering boxes are the trans am option boxes and if it has one of those then its probably a ws6/ws7
800 or 802 box
i forgot now..
someone else will know more than i can remember now
all i know is that my 82 has the 4 blt top box and the biggest bars on it and its an LG4 200c and has the PMD and level three interior and the regular T/A GFX(non-aero) stuff
must be nice to know what wheels came on yours, mine had some 14" aftermarket aluminum directionals when i got it years ago
no clue what it had originally, and never will get to know either
i consider myself lucky to know what drivetrain it had and what colors it was originally(light blue outside and dark blue cloth inside)
i was not aware that that the WS6/7 suspension was not part of the t/a package ?
just in 82 ? or ?
good luck

I will see if FE-2 is on my build sheet.
Randyws7 look under the drivers rear seat bottom thats where my build sheet was, but I've see later ones under the drivers seat. Of course this is a california car so no rust holes water could get in.
I don't think PMD seats were rare back then or even now, seem less cars had the base seats in them. Me personally I prefer the 84 seats I have in it now way more comfortable then it's originals. My car also has the upgraded interior with custom door panels, carpeted rear plastic panels, that flip up trunk panel, rollup sunshade. nothing of it's drivetrain is original to the car anymore & I don't miss the gutless power it had either.

Y99 would be the standard T/A suspension code, I dont think it would make a big splash from the marketing side to give a T/A a base suspension
