85 Iroc

Hi.... new to the forum. Love the great information people give. I am thinking about selling my car. What is a "FAIR" price to ask on an 85 with 32,000 original miles and the body in very good condition without rust? I am in western PA. Babs....

Check the local listings that serve your area. Ebay, Autotrader and cars.com localize items. Nobody on here is qualified to do Internet appraisals on site-unseen cars. The value varies too much based on location and time of year.

Re: 85 Iroc

Thanks for the reply SCOTT. I have done a little researching, and was quite disappointed in what I found for my area. I was thinking this car should be of some type of value, due to the "very good" original (no rust) condition it is in. I checked with the "NADA" guides, and was saddened to learn that this car is worth about $8200 top dollar. AMAZING the value of these cars. I think with the price of gas, and with the new line of camaro's coming out, I am afraid the value of these fine pieces of machine will go down even less in value. And as most of us know, these cars are notorious for common problems in mechanical breakdowns. (The junkyards in my area are FULL of third generation cars!) I have read the auto trader and looked at diferent websites for Iroc Camaro's for sale, and some people are asking as high as $14,000 for one, and they have "higher mileage" than mine! I must be living in a depressed area! haha.... I feel these 3rd generation cars are by FAR the best looking Chevrolets that were ever produced. I may be trying too sell this car for a "fair" market value at this time.

Re: 85 Iroc

Advertise the car for what you think it's worth and stand by your reasons for pricing it as such. I put a trailer up for sale locally and was told by friends and club members that I was asking way too much. Last Friday, I put it on Craigslist and the trailer sold for hundred's more than people thought. And in one day! I received many contacts regarding the trailer at my "high" advertised price. I sold the trailer at my "high" advertised price.

Somebody somewhere will pay what the true value of the car is. Advertise nationally.

I agree with Scott 100 %. If you have the ability to be patient at your price you may eventually sell it for that price. You never know who is out there that may be looking for that exact car and willing to pay to have it.
