1991 restortation
hey guys im wonder if you can help me out here. i have seam to hit a wall im my current project. Im working on putting all the power options in my car windows, locks, mirrors, hatch poper, and im looking for a factory self dimming rear view with map lights if they made one.
my problems are
1 i have a motorized hatch now but no poper. i cant find a place that sells this unit or a add on to my motorized pulldown.
2 wires im half tempted to just make my own harness for the new addions to the car but i would like to see if i could find a factory harness first.
3 i am having problems finding power window arms (the track that pushes the glass)
4 im also looking to put keyless entry on the car so im not jacking up my doors with my keys.
5 the self dimming rear view i can find
any one have some part numbers or a place where i can find the parts?

The trunk motor issue will depend on when your car was built. If it's an early 91, you just need the solenoid which bolts in place on the pulldown assembly. If it's a later 91 you need the entire pulldown from a car that has the hatch release. Mid 91-92 have a different style assembly then any of the earlier cars. If it's an early car check the tech articles, my write up should still be out there.
The power window, locks, and mirror wiring all plug into the main harnesses. It's not hard to remove after you take the seats, console, carpet, etc out of the car. There might be slight differences from one year to another. You'll need the door harnesses and the harness in the car itself. The lock/window switches are cheap enough new from the dealer that there's no reason to use used parts. For the power regulators, used would probably be easiest. After you get done buying the regulators, motors, wiring, etc you'd probably be further ahead to just get a pair of used full power doors.
Keyless entry is a piece of cake on these cars. It's just a matter of buying a quality alarm system and installing it.
The auto-dimming mirror wasn't available in 91, I want to say the last year was 87. Considering I've never seen one that still worked, and most of the time they're so heavy they pull the button off the windshield, I'd just pass. Besides that you should already have the mirror with the built in ctsy lights.
I've got door harnesses and the complete uncut power window harness out of a 1986 bird if you'd be interested. To be honest you need so many parts to do it, that your best bet would be a parts car.

Re: 1991 restortation
Drew... I have all the switches needed at this point i picked them up from a forum spon. at this point in thinking its going to be better for me just to track down the plugs and make my own harness. Im still not sure if i want to trust a 10 year old harness.
i wish i could find a good donor car around me but i dont think the wife would want to start parking in the street. i have a 3 car garage now with 2 s10 show trucks one compleated one underconstruction and my camaro taking up the garage. if i try to add another car in the mix ill be living on the porch.

Re: 1991 restortation
The main reason I suggest replacing the doors is how the windows are supported. The windows don't bolt to the tracks, the guides are riveted to the glass and the regulator is riveted to the door frame. Even if you get them out of the doors and into your new doors, getting them realigned properly could be a real pita.
If you want to build the harness yourself, just get a GM shop manual and the plugs from the same year car. Honestly it'd be cheaper, easier, faster, etc to just get a set from another car. Hit the junkyards you might even find a car that's already had the interior pulled. Also, the wiring and plugs seldom if ever go bad, it's the switches, motors, and actuators that fail.
Another option you may want to consider is aftermarket power window/lock kits. At the very least I'd suggest doing some research and see how they install. You might be able to reuse the manual regulators and save a bunch of trouble.
