What's worth more '91 305 or '92 350?
What's worth more '91 305 or '92 350?
Presently looking at two Z28's.
One is a '91 with 36K, 305 TPI, T-top, with rear drums. It also has headers (negative). The car has a little surface rust, starts, runs, and drives fine.
The other is a '92 with 120K, 350 TPI, sunroof (negative), with rear discs. Generally the car is clean, surface rust just starting inside rear fender wells. The car has been sitting for 3 years, pulls to one side under braking.
Both cars are automatic's and are within $1000 of each other.
Which would be a better the low mileage 305 vs the higher mileage 350? Is the '92 (25th anniversary) worth much more that the '91?
Thanks

Well since all 92's are '25th anniversary' cars, toss that consideration right now unless you think an emblem on the dash demands a premium. Next, why does a 36k mile car have rust and headers? Have you looked it over closely to determine if the mileage is anywhere near correct?
If I had to choose between the two cars you're dealing with, it'd be a hard call. A sunroof isn't irreversible, but the mileage/wear is. Still the 92 has a lot more going for it from your description. The 91 if it's actual mileage and hasn't been beat has about 5 times the life left in it of the 92 if the 92 has been abused.

I'd have to go with the 91 because it's low mileage. Any 36K mile car could have surface rust. A previous owner could have kept it outside. Also, I would stay away from the sunroof. IMO they look terrible. Plus, you will probably dump a lot more cash into the 92 because things are going to start to wear. Anyways it's up to you and what you want to do with the car. Let us know what happens.
