Did I let go of a rare one?

Hey guys, looking back I wonder if I sold something rare or not because at the time I only bought it because it was so freaking sweet.

I bought a 91 or 92 Z. It was red w/ red leather. I only ask because I've been looking for a clean Iroc or Z for over a year now and I've never found a red on red leather before. Was that custom by the previous owner or an option? Just wondering.

Re: Did I let go of a rare one?

Hey I think it depends on what options it had. Like obviously the 350s would be worth more than the 305s, disc over drum, etc. The red on red option is not too rare I don't think. It may be because of the leather, but I wouldn't think so but that's mainly because almost all of red Camaros I've seen have been red/red combos. A total eye sore I think, I had to get rid of my red interior, it made my eyes burn everytime I got into the car.

Re: Did I let go of a rare one?

I think the only thing that could possibly consider our cars as being "rare" is anniversary models & clean unmolested or original looking ... The second being you "rarely" ever see a nice one anymore & to see one thats as nice or nicer looking then a 4th gen is indeed "rare" .....

I suppose thats how I should of put it. Anyhow, Im still lookin for another one, but good lord they are hard to find down here in Houston in good condition. I've seen 1 Iroc a few weeks back that was completely gorgeous. After that, nothing going on down here. Either that or I dont get out much. And I missed out on a 92Z w/ the purple paint that was literally a garage queen and in a 9.9 out of a 10 condition but he sold it the night before I called him.

Red on red combo isn't rare, but the leather option is kinda rare. The only place I've seen Camaros with leather interiors for sale is on eBay. I have never seen one locally. I'm dying to get leather in my Camaro, I snagged some leather door panels off eBay and now I just need to get seats or reupholster the ones I have but I want to get LS1 brakes and sub frame connectors first.

Re: Did I let go of a rare one?

I think my RS is pretty unique because it has grey leather. I've seen RS convertibles with leather before, but never an RS coupe! Kinda weird to have leather, but not even a power drivers seat or power mirrors!

Actual 3rd gen leather is rare in my opinion. Finding some in better to good condition is even rarer. And finding new seat covers in leather is even harder. I am babying my leather because it is rare. Red on red is not.

Vinyl cracks, at least in cold weather climates. After having leather vinyl will just make you mad.

Re: Did I let go of a rare one?

I have seen several red/red leather cars and even more red/gray leather cars. I don't think either combo is very rare.

Now my 94Z with leather, that is much more rare!! Or a block heater in a 94Z like I have.
