Quik Trip Redline Camaro?
A friend of mine said he'd heard of a special edition Camaro made for Quik Trip (yeah, the convenience store) in the 80s called the Redline Camaro.
This sounds like some interesting Camaro trivia I gotta know. Does anyone know what the heck he's talking about?

I've never heard of it in all my years. That's not to say it doesn't exist, but I'd tend to say it doesn't. He'll have to back up his statement a little more, or it's not worth mentioning.
Maybe somebody else can help.

Maybe it was a low-key, "unofficial" thing that QT did by themselves. Maybe it was only a few cars that they handed out to some lucky employees-- probably general managers with successful stores.
My friend did say that the guy had to give the car back after a year or so.

Re: Quik Trip Redline Camaro?
This is a very old post to respond to, but yes, I know exactly what he is talking about. I worked for QuikTrip in the 80's & 90s - at the time QT was a convenience store based in the Midwest, now they have spread more or less nationwide. They did a 1-year promo and I believe it was 25(?) cars total. The point of the promo was to promote their new premium gas line "Red Line" gasoline. All the store supervisors drove one during the year and they gave away the rest in a drawing in multiple markets (Kansas City, Des Moines, Tulsa, Wichita... I don't think Atlanta or St. Louis had opened up yet). The issue was shortly after the promo and the cars were given away, Redline Oil heard about it and sued them for trademark infringement. And that was the end of that. All were black with gold pinstriping/decal kit promoting "Redline". There were no performance improvements. I can't remember if they had any special interior improvements or stitching in the seats? But Bottomline- it was all flash and no go - totally stock car. Although, I remember them as Trans Ams, not Camaros but back then the two cars were generic, so it could have been a camaro, it was 40 years ago. I do know at least two were totaled by the supervisors! It was not a factory endorsed special edition.

Wow, super cool to get follow up on this almost TWENTY years later. Mystery solved! Yes, we were in the KC area. The guy that told me about this probably mixed up Camaro and Firebird. Thanks so much for the info.
Re: Quik Trip Redline Camaro?
It's almost as surprising as someone still following their post 20 years later!!! PS: I forgot to mention - as Store Managers, we all got "Red Line" jackets to match the promo. My buddies and I would go to the bars and tell the women we were part of a race team! We were dorks. :-)

HOLY S$%#!!!!!! Where did you find that!?! OMG - That is awesome!! We were trolling Westport back in the day all of us walking into bars with these. Too funny & too many memories. And I'm glad someone confirmed they were Trans Ams - I was 90% sure, but I drank and slept a lot since then so I wasn't going to push it.
