Post here if you've bought your 3gen MORE THAN once

Some will call me nuts (my wife said that recently). But I saw the red 1990 IROC-Z that I sold a few years ago, up for sale again locally. And bought it back! I've been looking for another 3gen since selling my 95 Trans Am (which needed a LOT of work ). I was amazed to see 'my' 1990 IROC for sale again! It seems like a huge privilege, to be back in the car again and to be able to count on some of the earlier work I'd done on it, like the interior I replaced and so on.

So - anyone else do such a thing?

I bought my 85 Iroc back twice. The first time I sold it for 10k and bought it back for $2500.00 after the guy wrecked it. I fixed it and sold it for 10K again to a guy in San Francisco. It was stolen from him and wrecked again he sold it back to me for $2700.00. I parted it out and made almost $11,000.00 on the parts. And I still have some parts from it.

Re: Post here if you've bought your 3gen MORE THAN once

My friend did that.. well sort of. He had bought a 1987 white IROC that ended up just sitting in the driveway after a few years. Poor car needed attention and minor work but he had little free time. I offered to buy it for $2200 which he took. I kept it for a little over 2 year, fixing it up getting it running right etc. Then I came a across a great deal on my current IROC. I offered the 87 back to him and he initially jumped at it.. only later to decline because he was saving money for his wedding. His finacee later called and offered to buy the car as a surprise birthday gift for him.

I looked at my first 3rd gen, a red 87 sport coupe, when I saw it for sale many years after I had sold it. The kid wanted to much money for it. I saw it again 2 summers ago going through town with a young girl driving. I tried to turn around and follow but lost her. I'd buy it back for a reasonable price just to fix it up like I had wanted when I had big plans and little money. It's easy to spot the car at this point.. faded pink Maaco paint, really bad looking 14" chrome wheels, and an 82-84 Z28 nose without ground effects, on a sport coupe. I'm always keeping my eye out for it being for sale.
