my guess would be like 1500 or so thirdgens usually go for alot in my area for some reason, not to diss on your car, but its not very disarble being a v6, and an 84

Re: What is this worth?

The reason I say 3k, is because if the body and interior is in as good of shape as you say it is, it would be ideal for a 350+trans+axle swap. If I could go back and do it all again, I would have went that route. Instead I got a 350 with a rusty body, I would rather have a v6 with a perfect body. Engine swaps can be done much easier imo than body work.

Re: What is this worth?

A vehicle, no matter what it is, is only as valuable as what someone pays you for it, meaning you dont know for sure till you go to sell it. I had a 67 Chevy truck with a great body(no rust), and only a couple small and very fixable dents, had a built 283 chevy engine, the book value was around 6K, I tried to sell it for 2500 and couldnt. In fact I gave up and wound up trading it for my 83 Trans Am which was only being offered for 1200. So what I'm saying is that even tho the book value was supposedly 6K, it turned out the truck was only worth 1200. I sure miss that truck though, was a dependable old thing. in fact I drove it 300 miles to make the trade without issue.

I learned a valuable lesson from that truck, if you build something, build it for yourself, dont build it to sell, cause what you think is valuable may very well mean nothing to the next person. I held that truck and held it thinking if i held it long enough I'd make some money on it, and turns out I lost my a*s in that deal. Many would think I'm crazy for the money I am dumpin in my 83 Bird by saying I'm stupid and I'll never get my money out of it and all that crap, but fact of the matter is, I am doing it for me and nobody else, I have no plans to ever sell it so I could care less about its percieved value. Its value to me is all that matters. And like many diehard 3rd gen owners, I am very partial to my car.

Re: What is this worth?

Here in Hawaii it is near impossible to give a V6 car away. I bought my 1989 with 55,000 miles on it, Pioneer stereo with 12" subs, real solid and nice car. I paid $300. Most V-8's are in the $2000-$3000 range. I'd say $4000 was an incredible offer. I'd place it in the $1000 range myself.

Re: What is this worth?

In MI 1000 is the base price for a running driving car.... Go up from there.

I would think around $2000, 82-84 really are not super desirable to most people, they were underpowered and there were alot of them made. being a V6 lowers the price of a V8 conciderably.... I would never look twice at a V6 car unless it was a TTA, or if I wanted it for parts only, which eliminates everything on the engine, so it really does not make a great parts car for me either...

Sorry, I am just being real, I am not bashing anyone with a V6 or I4 its just a matter of facts and what history has dictated from older cars.
