Color number on front bumper support

Color number on front bumper support
Did I ever post this? I found this while repainting my car... thought it was definately notable.

The number 51 shown here is the color of the car. The bumper covers were painted in a different location than the car. I think it was still in the same factory, but not on the car when the car got painted. This was the color designation for that piece.

Ok... I see some confusion.
The number is written on the front Steel Bumper SUPPORT behind the front absorber. It is the color number of the car "51" indicates Yellow Gold in 1987. I believe someone would have looked at the Build sheet and written the number on the front bumper support to indicate to the painter what color to paint the car prior to assembly. Although you could think that it was the color for that particular part, the part has barely any paint on it, nor do you really see the part when the car is assembled. What is really interesting is my friend has a n all origina 1986 Trans Am From Van Nuys, my car is a Norwood car. His front bumper support is Black.
