I cant read the one on the door and the entire dash was replaced and we forgot to get the old vin plate. I want to get a new one but DMV will want to see an original vin from the car not on the title. We completely redid the dash and console but were in a hurry to get rid of the old ones because I have no space. Where are all the places they can be?

 

Your RPO sheet in your center console will have the VIN# on it.

 

it never had a lid and we replaced the whole cosnole so that vin doesn't match. Trust me I am kickin myself in the rearend for throwing the old dash away. I just never thought it was attached to the dash just thought it was part of the firewall. Isn't there a vin in the trunk or on the firewall somewhere?

 

There is supposed to be one back behind the blower motor on the firewall. But good luck getting dmv to not be asses about the whole situation though.

I don't know about your car, but on my cars the VIN isn't on the dash... it is riveted to the Firewall under the windsheild and removing the dash has no affect on the VIN.

 

Yes that is exactly what I thought too and it made me go hmmm was it ever there? That is why I am so anxious to fin one. I still have the original everything to the car except that old dash and console. I really don't care if I ever find it as I know the title belongs to the car and the vin is there but I will never to be able to restore and have the car worth high dollars if it ever came down to it. But I was sure that there were more readily visible vins on this car.

 

Another place for the VIN is on the rear hatch and also on the rear quarter on the inside near that rear "glove box". You have to pull out the interior panel to see it.
