84 Z28 Questions
Im looking into purchasing an 84 Z28 parts car. I am waiting on more information from the guy who owns it, but its supposedly a factory 5spd car with drum brakes. Im waiting to find out if its an LG4 or L69 car. I need some trim off it it among other things. My real question is whats the chances of this being a 3.73 rear gear car from the factory?? The gentlemen is supposedly getting me all the RPO codes, but I just had to ask til I hear back from him

8th digit of VIN:
G = L69 car; should have come with 3.73s (as always, it's anybody's guess what's IN IT NOW, I'm just talking about what came in it)
H = LG4 car; probably came 3.23s

In 1983 the 3.73 was the standard gear ratio with a 5 speed car at least in the Firebirds even with a LG-4. Just wonder if they changed that in 1984.
