IROC-Z A/C Delete?

I few years ago I owned a 1985 IROC-Z 305 LG4 5-speed that had a/c delete and 4 wheel disc brakes and t-tops. I had never seen another IROC with A/C delete and was wondering if it was part of some type of special package or something, like the 1LE's but before they made the 1LE option? The car is light blue with grey cloth interior. If anyone knows anything about A/C delete IROC's I would appreciate your $.02.

Re: IROC-Z A/C Delete?

Welcome.

Sorry, there was no other special package just because the AC (RPO C60) wasn't included. Especially with regards to performance since she only had the base IrocZ engine offered in '85, the LG4 engine.

It sounds not like it had a specific AC delete option, since having AC was an option. It was more likely an IrocZ with "Preferred Equipment Package 1". She would require at least a Preferred Equipment Package 2 in order to have AC.

They made 180,018 Camaros in '85. Out of those, a large number, 33,637 did not have AC (not including the special Berlinetta electronic version of AC). That's quite a few, so it's very likely some of them were IrocZ's.
