84 Z28 Custom Hood/Spoiler?????
Can someone tell me some info on this hood and spoiler. The car is a road race car....so it might be a custom spoiler, but what about the hood.
The AD is found here about 5/8 way down.

The AD says its an 84 Z28 Trans Am...kind of weird?

The front of the car might be a stick camero front, modified...but that's no TA. I'm actually struggling to find a part on there that *is* original...maybe the main body/ceiling/windshield frame?

They probably meant Trans Am series racer. To me the nose looks to be from a '85 Sport Coupe. The paddle style mirrors were used as base mirrors on some early 3rd Gens then used later,in power form,on T/A and GTA(plus you could buy them in parts stores.

Hood looks like an aftermarket 2" cowl Z28 hood with 4 hold downs (prolly no hinges), the spoiler could be a custom job, or the just the center section of an aftermarket 5" spoiler, hard to tell from the angle.
Also lets see the door handles and and antenna are shaved. The nose looks like an early SC nose with the grill section and parking lights removed. Rear fenders are rolled to clearance the tires. Hmm I'd be willing to bet a beer that the front fenders and doors skins are 'glass the more I look at it.
5 grand huh? with no info about the motor/tranny from a "classic" and "muscle car" site that is selling an "1988 Chevy I Roc Z Convertible" :/

The hood is a light weight aftermarket, composite make. Kinda flimsy in structure. I have one with hinges. Tweaks every time I open the thing. I'm gonna replace it in the near future.
The car looks to be set up for circle track stock car racing, which explains the flared fenders ( tires should not extend past them. ) to help protect other cars from track debris. I see the roll cage, the deleted headlamps and drivers protection netting also. The asking price likely reflects the work and expense to make it a racecar. If you are looking for a racecar then is not so bad a price, if you are looking for a streetable set of wheels then maybe you should look elsewhere.
