I've come to a crossroads ...

After a lot of thought and research, I have found out that I need to invest about 6-7k in my car to get it where I want it. Is it really worth it to do that kind of restoration to a third-gen vert right now? Or should I list it on ebay and buy something else (i.e. 2nd gen)? What would you guys do?

Heck, this is AT LEAST what I've spent on my car over the past 3-4 years. Don't look at it as something you have to do all at once. Hit it piecemeal doing the things you think will be the most fun first.

Dude, your car is very rare. You know you would hate yourself later if you got rid of it.

Am I right?

It's not a 69 Yenko Camaro...
Will it ever be?? Probably not... Who knows...

It you're doing it as an investment, I would probably not...
Doing it to make your favorite car the best it can be, then why not???

What is the other delima???

I don't plan on selling my ride... & I want it to be nice... can I dump 6 or 7 k at once, not really, but a bit at a time, yeah..

Re: I've come to a crossroads ...

Cadillac,

You make total sense. I just want my car 100% perfect RIGHT NOW, and I know that is not a realistic goal.

I do agree that I would kick myself in the nuts in 5 years if I sold this thing. But I found out yesterday that it needs a motor after leaving it with a mechanic for a week, and that kind of depressed me. I guess I should look on the bright side and know that once I put a new motor in it, it is almost a new car again.

Plus, I want to do headers, catback, hi-flow cat, seat covers, new vert top, sfc's, paint, etc.

Anybody have any more opinions? I like to hear what others would do.

If you need a new motor do an LSX conversion . Unless you have the $$$ now to do everything, take your time. Keep the car, it can be a family project. But if your gonna sell her let us know...hehehe
