'89 'vert ?s
'89 'vert ?s
I am looking at an '89 Formula 350 convertible. It is a maroon color with a tan top and gray interior. The top and carpet have been replaced. Claims to be one of 17. I don't think there is alot of paperwork to prove anything. What should I check or look at? The car is in good to very good mechanical and physical condition some wear on the drivers seat can't remember the mileage. The price is very reasonable. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Make sure all the plastic covertible top pieces are there and in good shape... or plan on spending a lot of time finding replacements, because they're no longer made and hard to come by. Other than that, just look for the typical things on any car. See if it still has the SPID, thats a sticker in the center console that will show all the options that came on the car in 3 digit codes, and see if the VIN matches the VIN on the car so you know its the right sticker. Should have a L98 on it if its a 350 car. You'll probably see N10 (dual catalytic converters) , J65 (rear discs), JG1 (aluminum driveshaft), CC1 (thats t-tops... obviously long gone

actually, for an 89 the SPID sticker may be on the back of the rear compartment door. that small compartment on the drivers side in the hatch area. Talk to "okfoz" on this board. He'll probably reply soon anway. He has an 89 formula 350 convertible and they are very uncommon. He can give you tons of info about them.

No stickers in console or compartment but there was an ASC decal in the door frame. Unfortunately the condition of the car is not near what I thought. A friend did purchase the car and hopefully we can get a lot of things fixed. It is a neat car just not taken care of.
