'91 with issues worth restoring?
Well I'm back from lurking and drooling over others cars with another question. This time regarding a parts car I bought back in Aug.
It has a bunch of issues, but the engine still ran before I parked it. The orginal plan was to do a v8 swap into the v6. But I ran into issues bringing her home, which including dieing 4 times, one of them being because of overheating. It also exploded all over my driveway once I got it home, my dad still complains about the oil spots, lol. She then got parked and I started to pull apart the engine, and gave up when I hit a pole with my v6 a week later, heavy rain + bald tires + mud + taking a turn way too wide = hitting poles. I transfered the front end including the drivers door over the v6 leaving the v8 with nothing but a hood. It has alot of electrical issues, brake lights, turn signals, hazards, etc don't work. The underbody is also an issue, there are rust holes here and there.
As people who have done tons of work on f-bodies do you think this car is worth saving? This may be a bit of odd question, but I just can't decide, plus your opinions will help when I try to convince my dad that I should let it sit in the driveway for the winter.

You will probably have more invested into trying to save it or restore it than simply buying a V8 nice car to start with...
The down side is insurance is higher on a car that originally came with a V8 than a V6... I do not think the difference between an LG4 or LO3 is significantly different than a V6...
Personally you might consider getting a nicer replacement car and then using your current car as a parts car... That would Make dad really happy

Yeah...I think your completely right, I was out there looking at it today, and the rust problem is worst that I thought, the holes look too big for me to do a decent repair on. Plus the entire drivers floor from the seat to firewall isn't solid, so the rust has pretty much made it's way through most of the driver's side floorboard.
Thanks for the advice!
