2hy rear axle code on a 86 iroc?
well i was a little curious if my car actually came with the g92(3.42 posi)option but none of the rpo code sheets are in the car anymore,so i did some digging to see if there was any other way i could find out what gear ratio came in my car and i found a website that said to look for a code in the front of the right axle tube and i found the code it is 2H Y C311 1 and on the same site it says the 2h y means 3.23 posi,so im a little confused cause in the 86 camaro tech articles it says that an 86 lb9 A4 came with 2.73 standard or 3.42 with the g92 package ,so does this mean my rear end has been swapped out or am i missing something?any insight would be appreciated,thanks in advance ,joe

My 86 IROC came from the factory with 3.23's posi and it was one of the last one made.It had a lot of the 87 options.

The standard catalog of Camaro states the 1986 camaro came standard with 3.23 gears the 3.42 was option G92.
