What to do?

Hey guys I'm 17 and I have a 1989 Iroc Z 5 speed with the LO3...boo and Im confused on what to do and could use some opinions. I have always loved thirdgens. When I bought mine I had plans on cleaning it up and swapping out the engine. Well like all of you know money is not plentiful and I am going to school in the fall. I will stay at home but it looks like a swap is not in the near future. My problem is that I love my car but lately I have been interested in z32's 300zx's. I kinda want to buy a turbo one and I figure it is decent gas mileage while alot of power to play around with until Im out of school and can buy another third gen to build up. Help me decide what to do, wait to build up my 89 which is pretty clean just LO3 and high mileage, or sell and buy fun 300zx and build up camaro later. Please gimme some opinions, thanks.

If you have the money to buy a 300zx then you could use that same money to work on the IROC. Of course, I hate foreign crap so I would never suggest you buy one.

Re: What to do?

Personally I would drive the IROC. At a later point if you found a decent deal to upgrade to a LB9 or L98 I would do it and sell your current car.

The problem you will always have is if you drive the car and need it for transportation NOTHING will ever get done, and when any work gets done on the car you will be out of a car and your friends will hate you because your always bumming a ride.

I have owned 2 cars since I was 16... My Summer car and my beater-driver.

The parts on the 300Z will be a TON more expensive to repair when something goes wrong...
