History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
My God are you lucky. Those are damn near perfect! If I find a set in black, my car doesnt have power seats. What would I have to do to the seat to attach it to my manual track and handle and such?
This might not be the correct place for this question, but you guys seem like experts.. I have an 89 IROC and I'm changing out the seats for a nice set I got out of a 2001 Trans Am. My seats are split fold down rear seat and the Trans Am seats and one solid rear fold down seat. Are they interchangeable..?? I know I've tried this before, but that was in my 91 vert. Stone
They are a direct swap if your car already has the split seat backs. There is a good write up in the Jan/Feb 1996 issue of Camaro Enthusiast performing this swap. They say that you need to remove the seat belt guides from the backrest of the rear seat, and a slight adjustment may be needed. Seen this done many times before............RatPack...............
Had a big storm here in Indiana at the end of June. Mine were stored in the attic, of course a tree takes out my garage. Lucky the seats are ok, just all dirty and stained. I should have turned them into the insurance to get recovered but didn't. Think I will this summer, saved them to put them back in some day.
Go to the first page in this thread. It has sources for the fabric, bolster and spectrum camaro fabric. You should be able to find exactly what you need to make that seat as good as new.
You can find the red on eBay under user name ROHNAZ. He's a great ebay seller and his price is reasonable at $135 for enough to do the entire interior. I have the brown/tan and the charcoal/gray.
I just bought this saddle interior on Ebay for $150. I hope they will make good cores to have re-done... It's the first split back rear seat I've seen in saddle.

Very nice!! Could you post some pictures of your interior? Is it all original?
For the most part, I did swap the speedo out for the 140 and replaced the seat belts. The belts had the recall done back in the late 90's but the tech managed to break the plastic when he changed the buttons.
I finaly found some NOS ones a few years back and got them put in right after taking these pics.

No, It's white. exterior with the 4 bottom stripes. I'll have to post some pictures of it. A little faded from getting beat down by the Arizona Sun. But I'll post pictures tomorrow for sure!
1985 hardtop, LS/C interior, posi, rear disk, overhead console, rear wiper, 140 GM performance speedo, 90,000 miles, 3 owners, all stock except for a Gale Banks left exit exhaust and a couple things under the hood I'm easily putting back to stock.
Hi guys!
My name is Fredrik and I'm from Sweden.
I just bought me a yellow Camaro z28 Iroc 1985. When I bought it it had seat-covers so I couldn't see the original seats. When I got it home I pulled off the seat-covers and found "camaro" writen all over the seats. I had not seen this interior before and started to google it. And then I found this thread. I have read it all and what I understand this is some kind of special interior.
The interior I have is in saddle. But the sides of the front seats is in some kind of black leather or vinyl. I havn't found any pictures at all of this type on the web. Have you guys seen it before?
The back seats were covered with black leather/vinyl seat-cover. And it looks like some kind of original cover. I think this have been on all the time, because the back seats are in very good condition.
The front seats are also in good conditon but there are some dents. And there is a cigaret burn mark in the passenger seat.
I'll post some pictures of the interior and the back seat cover as soon as I find out how I do it.
Fredde07, Fronts are not stock,.... probably repaired due to wear/rips in the bolster areas that common to all thirdgen buckets. My guess is they were repaired by the same person that crafted the rear seat covers.
ev305tpi, There were under 500 of those 86 Seats produced. I've been a Thirdgen owner for almost 25 years and that 86 Conteur bucket I've got is the only one I have ever seen.

I think your right. But they have done a really good job, it looks like factory made. Do you know if the saddle fabric is available to buy somewhere if I want to change out the black vinyl so it looks like the original again.
Concerning the rear seat covers, do you now if these where available as an option or aftermarket part? These really looks like they are factory made. And they all have a stampt number on the backside (see the picture)
I have the exact same seats as in post #329 and the car is also yellow, but a T-5. I got the car in '99 and it looked like some repairs had already been made to the front seats. Twice I had the driver's seat fixed by a local car upholsterer, the outside bolster being the most vulnerable area. He got some Oldsmobile material the exact matching colour, except it was more fuzzy than silky, like the original material and a bit more durable. However, neither of these materials were made to last very long. The last time the seat was fixed the guy said there's nothing more he can do next time, at least for the money I was willing to spend. The IROC is no longer a daily driver and now has beige duct tape on the bolster and where the CAMARO CAMARO panels are coming apart.
Well I sold my Blue set then bought an additional IROC and decided I want to run the Lear seats in the 87. Found RED door panels which I'm going to have to trade, order reproductions or redo these and then I found the Orange (Charcoal) Lear seats. I had to drive 13 hour round trip to get them but you have to sometimes go old school to acquire what you want.

Has anyone had experience with these or any reproduction Lear Siegler covers?
A pdf of the ebay page is attached in case the above link no longer functions.
Wondering about fit, quality, and closeness to original (texture, color, fabric, seams).
I stumbled across this thread today and after reading the first page of posts realized that my '82 Z28 (owned 30 years ago) had the one year only "Conteur" LS seats in Charcoal (18D). Always thought it was odd that the drivers seat was different from the passenger seat, adjustable headrest vs fixed and the drivers side had many adjustment points. Cool thread.

When i did mine i used original fabric and even that is not going to be a perfect a match color-wise. Mine was a lot red-er than the factory charcoal interiors should be but it didn't bother me since mine was not a factory interior anyways. I bet you can ask them for a sample of the fabric if you are serious about it and then maybe ask one of the suppliers on the first page of this thread for a sample as well and compare originals to reproduction.
