There was no GTA in 1986. 1987 was the first year for the GTA.
That 1986 TA looks to be flame red. There was several different color combos offered on the 1986 TA. You could get two-tone or solid colors, depending on the color. Flame red was offered as a solid color.

Thanks I am not a bird guy. I have always had camaro's. Anything look wrong or you guys see anything? I read the part in the tech forum that says there was some that are only 26 made so I am gonna check the codes and if it is I will do it for sure. Just not very sure. I love my truck and already have enough toys. This truck. a 93 shortbed S10 show truck with a 350. and my 92 Z28.

Is the car local, or does the owner have the ability to send you a picture of the RPO sticker located in the center console? I'd like to see it.
As far as I understand, and I'll preface this by admitting 1986 is not my strong year, the aero spoiler was standard, but deletable for the pedestal one that 1986 TA has.
But for sure flame red was one of the colors available as a solid on the '86 TA.
I think that's a sharp looking TA, though it's only going to be a 305 - as I'm sure you know.

IMO, I like the truck better, and that's coming from a Bird guy. Just somethin about the 454 4-Speed that makes me perk up...
The 86 T/A doesn't look horrible though. Some oxidation on the hood looks like. Could just be the pic though to.

Re: 86 TA with 40k miles. Need some Help!
If you think it is the HO make sure to check the VIN and not get things mixed up... The 8th and the 10th digit will BOTH be G... If it is one of the 26 4BBL HO cars then Heck yes I would think it would be a keeper. 22 of those went to Canada, leaving only 4 here in the states.
It is more likely to be the LB9 or the LG4,
Put it this way.
YES YES YES if it is a True HO 4BBL one of 4
Maybe if it is a LB9
I would say NO if it was the standard LG4 4BBL...
Edit: I am leaning toward keep your truck, I just noticed that the wheels appear to be 15", it is NOT WS6...
