What was the last year this option was offered on the Camaro?

 

1986 with only 1,566 made.

Thanks for that information. I know a person that has a yellow 1985 Z28 with the rear wiper and I have never seen many Camaros or Firebirds with that option.

 

My 85's equipped with the system: rear washer (silly spray nozzle on top of the car near the hatch) and huge wiper. Ugly.

Where is the wiper switch located for the rear wiper/washer?

 

You can see it below the foglight switch.

On my 84 it's where that fog switch is.

 

edit: nevermind i just went and checked, its in the same spot as kevins. i was thinkin about the defrost switch. on another note do gm still make these switches mines all faded and ugly

I don't believe they do. The switch is easy to clean up by painting it if you don't mind losing the lettering. Usually the lettering is so bad that it doesn't matter. I thought of using another switch, however there is nothing else that allows you to turn the wiper on and then to also use the washer fluid. For other switches that people say GM no longer makes, I use this web site. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ The availability and prices are outstanding.

 

I have an 86 with a rear wiper, the switch is in the center console where the windows and trunk release buttons are

I was doing research on possibly buying and saving a rear wiper (ONLY because it was an option on the Camaro) for later use maybe. Anyway, when going through the boards; the swith location varied quite a but depending on what options came on your car. If it had lots of options, it was located down on the lower dash, if low options it was either fog light location or rear defrost. Console mounted - that is the first time I saw that location, doesn't make much sense if you had power windows and rear hatch release.
