Car: 85 IROC-Z
Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: stock 3.23
OUICK QUESTION
I have a 85 IROC that I did a engine swap with a 87 (also a 305 tpi). If I were restoring the car would it make a difference with that motor or would I need to rebuild the 85 motor?

own preference really. if u want to be that **** about restoring her then yes rebuild if not then swap. it just wont have orginal motor.

Numbers matching...
Every car has a VIN, as an example 1G1FP2188HL223456
On the Engine block and the Transmission case the following should be found 2HL223456
2 = Pontiac
H = 1987
L = Van Nuys
2 = Pontiac
23456 = Sequence number...
