another newbee

Just wanted to stop in and say hi to all the other 3rd grn lovers in here. My name is gene, nice to meet ya! I'm from fayetteville nc , And bought my 4th irocz just a few months ago. Sold the other 3 like a dummy but.... Anyways the one I got now i bought from a lady whose husband died about 9 years ago and pretty much gave me the car for 1500.00, The lady called a week later saying she still had the orginal rims if i wanted them, of course i ran over very quickly and got them!!! Well here I am now searching the net to find out what i really bought and I was shocked to find that what i got was a 1989 Iroc-z 1 LE , 1 of 111 for 1500.00 I feel as though i won the lottery , well small lottery. So what else to do but to come in here and gloat alittle he he. Although mind has a/c and stell driveshaft and also fog lights so mine is a level 1 which is still ok had to be only half of the 111 made of them i suppose or more. My new baby is all stock minus eldebrock headers and exhaust, grant steering wheel, and has only 59,502 miles. I thought about more mods but I dunno what ya'll think? Again hello to all!!!

Re: another newbee

First of all, welcome to TGO!!!

It sounds like you got a nice deal on your IROC but why do think think it's a 1LE? If the car has A/C, steel driveshaft, and fog lights it's definitely not a 1LE. You need to check your SPID label sheet for the RPO code "1LE". If it's not there you don't have a 1LE.

Also, there is no such thing as different "level" 1LE's. Either a car is a 1LE or it isn't. Unfortunately, I think you stumbled on to some bad information somewhere.
