I have one as well...
It's under the hood of a 1971 Chev truck, that is highly modified.
I really need to upload some pictures of it...

My '82 Recaro hit 50,000 miles a couple weeks ago. The body has that many anyway.

82 Corvette all original right now with Crossfire. Debating running a TPI on it but will always keep the crossfire socked away just because it is original to the car.

Re: Crossfire roll call!
I have debated removing mine from my Trans Am, but in the end, I think it is more unique to retain the original Crossfire system. There are mods you can do to that system to make more horsepower.

Re: Crossfire roll call!
i guess i can add my name to this list now. just bought an almost complete setup off ebay(i think its missing some fuel lines). Don't know if i m gonna put it on my camaro or buick regal yet tho. also i do have a cfi hood with the functional flaps just needs a new solenoid for the flaps.it ll probably end up on the camaro the more i think about it. it ll be different seeing a cfi on an 89 convertible.

Well, I have an engine-less '84 Z28, an extra 350, and a 100% complete crossfire setup... the three are bound to mate up one of these days.

Just joined the CFI club on Monday of this week. Picked up an 82 Camaro Pace Car with 67,500 miles -- all original. Runs a bit rich, but I haven't started to dig in yet.

I have a 1982 Indy Pace Car with the Crossfire engine, she has about 72K miles on her and I bought it new the Friday before the Indy 500. It was in storage for years and I am now looking at getting it roadworthy again.

Re: Crossfire roll call!
Thanks, KITT1983. I'm sure I'm looking at all kinds of issues in this area as the car was stored with a full tank of fuel in the expectation it wasn't going to be parked that long. Job relocation and marriage conspired against that plan, but now that it is in MY garage again, I plan on getting it back on the road again in the months ahead. I think I still have a magazine article that contained details about the actual pace car's buildup for the aluminum 350 motor that was in that car, I might explore that route in the future. A nice looking car like a pace car deserves more than 165 horsepower!

Re: Crossfire roll call!
I would probably keep it mild - I think the aluminum 350 used in the '82 race was around 250 horsepower, but they made mods to the car to prevent other issues from occurring due to the increased horsepower and torque of that engine. I don't remember if the CFI was on that 350 motor or if they opted for the tried and true carb from that era.
I really don't want to deviate too far from stock as there seem so few original f-bodies left untouched from that time. When I do replace the 305 and tranny, I am going to store them in case someone wants to make the car numbers matching again. But in the meantime, I will enjoy the increased power from the 350...

Re: Crossfire roll call!
The actual pace cars did have CFI-as far as i have heard,
the manifold and throttle bodies were stock production
but there were no emission controls at all and special
ECM calibration. The manifold lid and throttle bodies as
well as the alternator case and other items were finished
in "black crackle".HP rating of 250hp was reconed to be
on the consevative side...By engine specs and parts
used,including, IIRC,11:1 compression,actual pace
car engine should produce close to 325-350hp if a
good carb was in place-crossfire manifold in stock form
is very restrictive...
A few problems that could be present with a CFI that
has sat a few years include stuck injectors,a soft and
burst coupler hose in the tank, and a ruined fuel pump
if gas went rancid in the tank.

8t2 z-chev, I was under this car back in the late 80's pulling out the gas tank after the pump failed...you would think I would have learned my lesson then!

Re: Crossfire roll call!
i had to replace my original GM pump last year was still
pumping, but sounded nasty and was starting to lose
pressure...took it apart and the bushings were shot and
impellers loose-replaced it with a walbro.I was starting
to worry about the coupler hose getting soft but it was
good still.BTW,do you have rear wiper on your pace car
replica?-last one i saw had the wiper but i don't know
if that was standard on the pace cars.

Re: Crossfire roll call!
I have a 1983 Trans Am with Crossfire. It has a 150,000 on it and the engine is currently being rebuilt. I also picked up a complete Crossfire setup as a spare. It only has 74,000 miles on it so I have spare parts if anything in mine ever goes.

few weeks now injectors not getting a signal to spray fuel. Did a rebuild with new cam and ported intake manfold and had bigger valves put in. car will only run with fuel you pour down it then it dies. does sound nice

Re: Crossfire roll call!
I think you mean the oil pressure switch, it supplies voltage to run the fuel pump when the oil pressure comes up. The initial fuel pump activation is done by the ECM when you key on ignition.
