Could you get as option the WS6 package on any 3rd gen Firebird?
Did the WS6 package change (more or less stuff) during that time?
Did they ever offer the WS6 without rear disk?
Could you get rear disk without ordering WS6?
Was the better steering box always part of WS6?
How much was the cost of WS6 on my 92 Formula?

Could you get as option the WS6 package on any 3rd gen Firebird? It was only available on Trans Am and S/E's in the early days, later I'm not sure but I'd say the Formula could have it as well

Thats not accurate.
The Formula and GTA's came with WS6 standard. It was optional on the TA and S/E.
There were various changes over the years with springs, shocks, sway bar sizes, and the inclusion or exclusion of rear disc brakes as part of the WS6.
Without rear discs (if they were not supposed to be included in the package) it was still a WS6.

Yeah, I was pretty sure that you could have a WS6 without rear disk. But so what years did the WS6 not have rear disk automaticly. And of those years, could you still have rear disk as an option? What blows my mind is that all Formulas came with WS6 as standard and not option. Is this really true?
When I purchased my 92 Formula on Ebay last year (1500 miles from my home), I asked the seller if it had rear disk. I really wanted rear disk, but he said it did not. I figured - oh well, and purchased it anyways. When I picked it up, I didn't bother to look. Got it home and discovered it had them, I was stoked. Then made the discovery that it was a Jamaica yellow Formula - I went ballistic.

Oh yeah - one more question. Does my 92 Formula WS6 have that better steering box? My 83 T/A w/ WS6 had it and I could definetly tell but my Formula is not as responsive, but the front suspension is tired and needing work.

If the box is the original one, yes its the faster ratio.
Starting in 86 the disc brakes were optional with the WS6, but they were available. Not positive you had to have the WS6 as well. I'm looking at your side info, says your Formula is a 350 so they had to order it with the rear discs.

The Formula has a T-5 (were they world class this year?) from the factory and started life with a 305 TPI but has now been upgraded to 350 TPI.
So factory 350 TPI had to have rear disk. That makes a lot of sense.
By the way - whats the difference between T-5 world class and non world class?

But WS7 was the "cheap" special handling package with rear drum brakes, even before the 3rd Gen. So they must have stopped using it later.But my researches stopped after 84 so I could only suppose things for later years.
