Question about my 1991 T/A???????

Hi everybody, I'm new here, but not new to 3rd gen T/A's. I recently found the car of my dreams, and I was wondering if anybody knows how many were made with my options.
It is a:
1991 Trans Am
LB9 H.O. dual cat
5-speed trans
t-tops
WS6
and the GU6 3.42 drum rearend.
The car is black with light grey interior
and no rear defrost on what appears to be the original hatch.
It does have PW, PL, cruise, etc...
It had some solid aluminum AR outlaw style wheels on it when I got it, but I just aquired some gold GTA wheels.
Does anybody know if the center of the wheels on my car were originally black or gray GTA wheels?

Thanx

Go to the following website and enter your VIN:
www.compnine.com

Note the database is not complete, but they do continue to expand on it. 1991 model year in particular for the Third Gen is nearly complete so the figures will have less error than other model years.

If you enter your VIN, it should tell you what wheels originally were on the vehicle. I believe in 1991/1992, Trans AM could be had with gold PW7 rims when previously gold was reserved for the GTA. So it will depend on your specific vehicle as to what color the PW7 rims were.

Re: Question about my 1991 T/A???????

Here is a 1991 sales brochure that does show gold on the Trans AM:

I know the above is European brochure, but I seem to recall at some point the gold PW7 rims becoming optional on the Tran AM and I thought that was 1991. It caused a lot of confusion back in the day for magazines as that was previously reserved for GTA only.

I cannot seem to find concrete evidence. I know for sure that in 1992, the Trans AM hardtop could be had with gold PW7 rims. A member (RPM WOT L 98) has a 1992 Trans Am with gold rims: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/post...24-post29.html

It's possible that policy changed later, but that's what the early advertising shows.

There simply aren't any really accurate production numbers. Compnine will tell you that your car is 1 of 3 or some such nonsense. It's probably a magnitude less rare then that website will suggest, but if you consider every single RPO code almost every thirdgen is unique.

A 91 Trans Am LB9/5spd with those performance options is a fairly desirable car for sure.
