Picked up a new toy... ever seen one of these?

It's an 84 Trans am that has no normal ground effects... tough to see in the pictures. I've searched the web and have only found one other. there is a small ground effect at each wheel, haven't picked it up yet so i don't remember front or rear of the wheels but one at each wheel.

Is pretty much complete, missing the carb is all. Sorry the pictures are not that great.

looks pretty normal to me but I do see the ground effects you're talking about and i believe that was an aftermarket part

82-83 the flares around the wheels were normal for the Trans Am. The 83 Daytona 500 pace car was the first Trans Am to get full ground FX. In 84 they were optional on the Trans Am, standard on the 15th anniversary Trans Am. In 85 the updated ground FX with foglights became standard on the Trans Am.

Re: Picked up a new toy... ever seen one of these?

As Drew stated, the full ground effects were not available in '82 and '83 and were optional ($199) on the Trans Am in 1984. The brochures referred to this option as the "Aero Package." The Aero Package was standard on the 15th Anniversary model and the Recaro T/A in '84.

From 1985 on all Trans Ams had ground effects, but with a more integrated look. The specific 1984 Aero Package effects were one-year only.
