Does this look like a stock color??

I'm going to see this car this weekend...its been resprayed about 4 years ago by a previous owner. This color looks lighter than the OEM Bright Blue...or am I crazy?

It looks pretty good, Not much of a variation in color from the original paint in my opinion

Re: Does this look like a stock color??
Going to look at it on Saturday...its a 350 TPI with 73k on it. Other than not having power windows, its got everything I've always wanted. In the last week I've driven an '87 305 TPI AT and an '89 350...I now fully see why everyone wants the 350

You wont have to worry about having to replace the power window motors... ever. That's a nice plus. I dont miss the power windows at all.

Re: Does this look like a stock color??
knowing what a PITA it is to change the power window motor, I specifically shopped for a car without power windows. Camaro's don't need them

Re: Does this look like a stock color??
I hear you both about the window motors...that's the same thing the seller told me. My first Camaro was my '89 RS, which had cranks originally...I actually converted it to PW around 2000 using junkyard motors and regulators. 2 days after I got it all put together, the driver motor died
Never had another issue with it...my old '89 Formula, current '91 RS and '97 Z28 have never had the motors replaced, and work fine. I drove a yellow '87 last Saturday, however, and was reminded how slow they can be.
Charlie, thanks again for that PM over on cz28.com about t-top '89 350s not being available with G92. Like I said, its amazing how with these cars, after all this time, even I can still learn something new

Re: Does this look like a stock color??

The GOOD:
-Yellow '87 LB9/AT IROC with 66k miles
-t-tops
-LOADED from the factory...even has power antenna and auto dimming mirror!!! Never seen one in person...has the overhead console too.
-Straight body, little if any rust
-Drives VERY tight...the only thing I noticed was in reverse backing up, I got kind of a grinding noise...limited slip differential issue? Otherwise, a beautifully tight ride
The BAD:
-Paint dead
-Underhood a little ratty. Not rusty, just dirty
-SALVAGE TITLE due to theft in 1993
In MA, anytime a car is a recovered theft, its automatically granted a salvage title.-Wheels are skinned up and have no clear left...as usual
-I can tell you right now that when it was stolen, the interior was stripped IMO. The RPOs call for a power seat, but it doesn't have one in it. Both kick panels are dyed black, because the black paint is chipping off, revealing an originally grey panel

Bottom line is that its a great car overall...but again, its the typical "needs a respray." That, plus the salvage title and the 305 turn me off, and more towards the blue one...

Re: Does this look like a stock color??
it looks pretty close to me, the majority that i see driving around look like that if not red, maybe just a TAD dark i think...but unless your really looking hard, i don't think you would notice.
