What's so weird? It looks like a standard T-Top car just with the locks reversed.
Those T-Tops look almost exactly like the tops on my 87 LX 5.0 Mustang (my first car.) I wonder if C&C did the ford T-Tops for 87 and 88? I can't seem to find a pic to post.
Those are very deffinately C&C t-tops. Normally they didn't paint that trim piece in front of the t-tops. On my white 88 TA it was left black.

Cars and Concepts did tons of ttop conversions. They are the company behind the Fox body Mustang ttops, and Fiero ttops, for sure. I'm not sure about the 80's G-body cars, but it wouldn't surprise me.
Some people like them, personally I think they come off as cheesy, clunky, garbage compared to the clean install of the factory F-body tops.

im sure the car was repainted at some point, thats why the trim was like that. if any one needs them pm me i can tell you where they are. they seemed to be a decent fit i thought.

C&C was quite the company back in the 80's, they actually designed and made the Banshee prototype, they also made the convertible mustang, and they made the convertible olds Cutlass, in the late 80's and early 90's... I want to think that they made the Fiero T-top conversion and want to think that they experimented with a Fiero convertible... When I was at their shop in the early-mid 90's they had a convertible prototype Beretta that they wanted to pitch to GM... They also managed several GM Cadillac show cars..

Don't forget the Chrysler K-car convertibles... Cars and Concepts actually used the exact same top frame and mechanism on both the Lebaron and the Fox Mustang. The convertibles are just as poor quality as their ttops.
