Was this interior available? the standard style seats in leather and power adjustable???

Never seen it before and love it, the base seats are so much better (not saying they're great but...) than the customs

 

I dunno my buddies loaded 87 IROC originally had grey leather with the seperate head rest in it. It was wrecked so we put a grey cloth interior out of a 92 in it.

 

That's what I have now, the custom seats w/ the separate headrest and honestly, the high backs in the 88 are so much better even though the 87 has the fully electric seats. The headrest is sitting somewhere between my shoulders, the backs are way too small.

 

Offering leather on the base model interior would be kind of pointless. I've only ever seen the leather offered on the custom level seats. The high back buckets in the early cars are miserable uncomfortable. The custom seats are more comfortable when they're in good shape.

Maybe the same nitwit that shoved the flashlight into the overhead console upside down also recovered the seats with vinyl replacement covers. By the book, vinyl high back buckets were standard, so they could be original. But then they'd be vinyl, not leather. Said nitwit might not know the difference.

 

they may be recovered but were the base seats available as a power seat??? I spotted the upside down flashlight too, usually you see them like that.

 

They look like reupholstered 4th gen Maro seats

 

The 4th gen have different seat belt guides w/ 2 holes so you can choose to upper or lower.

It's the same as in my 88 w/ the controls as in my 87. The ribs on the seats are the same as on my 88.

Those are vinyl seats, not leather. The base seats were available in cloth or vinyl.

Lots of people with vinyl seats refer to them as "leather." Common mistake.

As for the power seat, my understanding is that this option did not require the deluxe interior, although I would suspect that the vast majority of power seat cars did have the upgraded interior.

 

Once some bonehead rams them in like that, they usually stay there. They stick about half way in if they're slid in upside down. I've come across a few like that in the junkyard. It's easiest to remove the console and push the flashlight out from the back side.
