Attention getter - The IROC she is.

I didn't think this post was good in any other section of the site so the history section sounded like the closest thing to post it under.

Has anyone had alot of reactions to driving their IROC's? I have a couple of examples & I'd like to hear other guys or gals examples of grabbing attention from fellow drivers.

1.) I took my car into a foreign car dealership to get my safety inspection done. Most of the cars there are Volkswagen's & Subaru's. I go inside & tell the lady that I have a Camaro that needs a safety inspection. She then takes my keys so she can put a sign in the car. The next thing I know she's walking back up with a co-worker & they come inside talking about it's an IROC, with t-tops. Then everyone ended up talking about it in the office. That made me feel good because alot of those guys in there liked it. It's not like my car is a 69 COPO Camaro or anything.

2.) Whenever I'm out driving or when I'm at a light and I see another F-body owner, usually in his Camaro, I always get the looks! It's like they've never seen a IROC-Z before (maybe they haven't too). I know our cars aren't as common as the base 3rd Gen's or as common as V6 Camaro's from any Generation or even the LT1's or LS1's but dang, my car is always getting those staring looks as they turn a corner and I seem to get alot of compliments.

What's been your experience with one of the greatest Camaro's GM ever built?

Here's a good read on the 3rd gen and how some people are beginning to look at it.

Well, Can't say i've owned a 3rd gen camaro, even tho if someone offered me a trade for a IROC-Z i wouldn't even hesitate at the opportunity to trade it. I love the IROC-Z. One of GM's GREATEST!!

I've always wanted a 2nd Gen. or 4th Gen. T/A..... Those are bad a@@. I wouldn't get rid of my IROC for one though.

I currently have 3 Iroc-Zs, 1 RS, and 1 SC, when I drive them the Irocs definitely get the attention from the public and police over the RS and SC.

Re: Attention getter - The IROC she is.

Mine is an attention getter for sure. Between the color, exhaust, styling, and the fact that you don't see many of them anymore, it's a difficult car to not notice. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't, depends on my mood. Once in a while, I just feel like cruising and spending some time with it without being stared or gawked at. I have to admit that most of the time I do enjoy it though and I always like the compliments and positivity that people have for it.

Re: Attention getter - The IROC she is.

My 82 isnt an Iroc(obviously) but being a Z/28 it gets alot of attention, and I never noticed that the early Z and the Iroc sit differently than the Ber,RS,and SC till a NY state cop said something about it and I started looking. I do get lots of thumbs ups and smiles but that mainly due to the lack of good third gens in my area, there are 2 Irocs in the area and I have the only Z/28. Theres tons of RS's, Sc's, and a few really nice Berilinatta's.
