Okay, on my '82 Berlinetta, the previous owner replaced the door, ignition, and trunk locks. He used the chrome ones. What color (black/chrome) is the correct one for '82?

Belinetta should be black.

 

On top of that, the lock covers/caps were plastic, at least on my 83 Z. The hatch lock was originally chrome.

I've looked high and low and it appears all that is available now is metal. The paint on the ones I got at the local discount auto parts store wore off in no time. I now have some NOS locks and they are lasting a lot longer, but the paint still wears off.
