What is the '92 B4C 350 L1E camaro worth?

http://stillwater.craigslist.org/cto/1787145395.html

I saw this pop up the other day when I was surfing craigslist, and I was wondering if he was asking too much for it. Ordinarily I would say so, but I wanted to check, since it's a B4C with the L1E package, and of course a 350. I will try to contact him to see why exactly it is not running at the moment, but I wanted to get a price range that you guys would expect to pay for this car.

Sounds like a winner to me for $1000. If I was in the market, you can bet I'd buy it, even with the work it looks like it'll need. B4C/1LE cars don't come up that often, especially not for $1000!

I saw that car a couple weeks ago. I'd verify the numbers before even considering it. That car looks like a used up piece of crap. Half the body parts have obviously been swapped, why? Rust? What happened to the original 16" wheels?

All a B4C really means is it's a base model RS, with a Z28 drivetrain, suspension, and 1LE brakes. From the look of things it's been messed with extensively. If it were fully restored it might be something special, but right now it's just a beater that might have slightly better then average brakes and a couple numbers printed on a tag.

The brakes in decent condition might be worth $1000...

The fact that he refers to it as a "Camaro Foxbody" ("Fox body" refers to the 1979-93 Ford Mustang platform) tells me the seller knows little to nothing about these cars. Before laying any money down I would definitely check the RPO codes to verify that it's a 1LE/B4C car.

you guys are looking at this too deeply...

for a 1000$... even if it was bought and parted... you would more than make back that 1000$..

or.. you're buying a $1000 Z28 with a few better upgraded parts...like brakes, oilcooler, 36mm sway bar, rear disks, and the 145mph cluster.. its a TPI motor as well... $1000 should be a no brainer as long as the engine is in good running order.

Re: What is the '92 B4C 350 L1E camaro worth?

If it's truly a 1LE B4C car, I'd say $1,000 isn't to much to ask, regardless of shape, as long as it can get on the road again ok. Huge bonus if it's still number's matching.

But at the same time, how many cars have been advertised as something, and turned out to just be a clone, or someone thinking it was something else?
