is my camaro original?
okay so I've had my "84" camaro sports coupe a little over a year now(and i love it!) but i was looking at my front clip and noticed that it looks like the front clip from a newer body style? if you look at my turn signal lenses they're more of a rectangle. I think the 82-84 sports coupes had square turn signal lenses? another thing i notice is the 3 vent openings in the middle on my car are more slim? here's a few pics what do y'all think? does it seem like my front clip has been switched or am i mistaken? thanks for any input!

Re: is my camaro original?
The slits indicate an 85-87 bumper cover. Does it have a grille? The grille on the 85-87 is one piece, and sits flush with the bumper cover. 82-84 had two smaller grille pieces that were recessed about 3 or 4 inches.
The headlight pockets are painted white, so I'd bet the car sustained some front damage at some point, and the front bumper cover was replaced with parts from the wrong year. Don't see many of the 82-84 style bumper covers in yards anymore.

You hit the nail on the head, you've got a 85-87 Sport Coupe front bumper. The style is basically the same, but there are styling cue differences, which you've already noticed. It should be REALLY easy to find a replacement from the correct 82-84 years, it's as though nobody wants them.

Re: is my camaro original?
Thanks for all the quick replys y'all! Okay so here's another mystery. My vin plate in the dash lists my camaro to be an 84 camaro berlinetta with a v8. Yet I obviously have a sport coupe considering thats the yr the berlinetta went through a bunch of changes. I've went over it over and over and sure enough it comes back to a berlinetta. What do y'all think? Factory mess up? Chop shop? Haha I'm lovin the quick responses

Re: is my camaro original?
What is your VIN?
If the 5th digit is an S, then it's a Berlinetta.
If the 8th digit is an H, then it has the LG4 V8 (the only V8 available on the ' 84 Berlinetta)
If the 10th digit is an E, then it's an '84.
If that all matches yours VIN, then that's what you have, an '84 Berlinetta with a V8. If anything on the car doesn't match that description, then that something isn't stock.
