Determining build date...
Is there any other way to find the build date for these cars?

I should add that I tried compnine and there is no data available. The car is a 1988 and has a short rear spoiler with a sequence # of 192426. Could it possibly be an 07/88 car?

Look for a paper sticker on the drivers side door jam. Mine has faded so much that it is no longer legible.

The door only shows the month and year, like 04/1990
To get the exact date you can actually contact GM historic services and they can send you a dealers invoice which would have the date it was completed, and some other info.

Re: Determining build date...
I went to PHS (Pontiac Historical services) and ordered the original build sheet, window sticker and all the literature pertaining to my TA,Paid $100.00. 65 for the history and 35 the the original window sticker. It gives you all the information on your car only
I apologize,I didn't receive a build sheet,I received a original dealers order sheet that list the options and RPO codes, not the original build sheet.

Re: Determining build date...
Your car was built in July 1988, the VIN range(last six digits) for '88 Camaros for July '88 was from 188369 through 196275 which was the end of the '88 production year. I don't have the exact day the last '88's were produced but a good guess would be your car was probably built in the second week of July. If you can find the build sheet in the car you could narrow the date down. You also say it had the "short" rear spoiler, Do you mean the 3 piece D80 style? or the 1 piece D81 style? in my research I have found very late production '88 Sport coupes that used the 3 piece D80 style, and early cars used it to, up until 11/87 when they switched to the 1 piece rear spoiler or D81 style. Re: Determining build date...
The RPO code on the SPID shows D81 but the spoiler is a three piece spoiler. The door sticker is very faded but it does appear to show what might be an 07 and an 88 under build date. I haven't been through the car looking for the build sheet yet, I doubt I will be lucky enough to find it.
