On another site thats often touted on these pages they sell an engine compartment emblem and an oil cap that is branded "Mobil 1". Was this stock for any certain year(s)? Considered an upgrade? Marketing gimmick?

I just saw one of those, but it wasnt on a thirdgen. I think it was a brand new vette or camaro at the dealership.

Things that make you go hmmmmmm

Yeah, Modern Day Muscle sells them. The emblem and cap were part of the Corvette program for C5s IIRC. I put the emblem under the hood of my '97 years ago....looks good. I don't think the oil cap fits any traditional SBC.
