1984 Z28 Moon Roof?
I was looking at a 1984 Z28 for sale on line. The seller claims it's "all original" and looks pretty much stock in the photos except for a pop-up moon roof (or sun roof?). I have looked at a lot of 3rd gens for sale and have never seen one with a moon roof before, was it an option in 1984? I suspect it is an aftermarket addition.

I have one in my 86 and also a parts car has one, its an 87. Both I think are factory.

Interesting, you learn something new here everyday! I was poking around the RPO code list and found a AD3 code listing a "Window,Hinged, Roof" listed as an option. Must not have been a very common option. Like I said, I've been watching the internet "for sale" listings and can't recall seeing another one on an '84 Z28.

I've seen quite a few. I saw a mint 91-2 bird yesterday and it had one on it. The only reason I noticed it is because it was up.

No such thing as a factory sunroof. Never, never, never ever.

See if has the ZF option... If so it was an ASC conversion back in the day... Kinda neat, not worth a whole lot more... Just a dealer option for those who wanted a sunroof, but didn't get T-tops.

Re: 1984 Z28 Moon Roof?
Well, I emailed the seller and asked him to send me a shot of the RPO sticker so I can see what factory options it came with. If it's not a factory option it will make the car worth less to me.

I can guarantee you it's not factory! There was never a 3rd gen sunroof option. They are all aftermarket. If someone states differently, move on.

I guess I should note that ASC placed "ZF" on the rear bumper If I remember correctly...

A dealer could have taken a brand new car straight from the factory & had one installed, making it "original" to the car, but not from GM. Yet still a "brand new" car with full warranty.
