RPO code location
I know that the RPO codes are under the padded console. But my sticker is faded beyond recognition. Is there anyother way to know or find out the RPO codes for my 86 IROC-Z?

Re: RPO code location
You might try doing a search... Search for "invoice" and "build sheet". Ignore any suggestions to visit Compnine.com or a dealer, since no one kept track of early Thirdgens.

Drew, what's going on man. Where do I do the search? Google?

Go back to the History/Restoration forum, and look at the right side of the page right above the list of threads. There will be a link that says "Search this Forum". Click it and type in whatever you're looking for... Build sheet or invoice or all three words will bring up threads about other ways of verifying options.
For early cars, that were sold in the US, if the SPID is gone or illegible, you can either try to find the build sheet, which is often long gone, or purchase a copy of the original invoice from various sources. Old threads will tell you where to look for the build sheet, or where you can purchase an invoice. With a 13 year archive of old threads, many topics have been discussed at length. It's usually faster to do a search then to wait for an answer. If you come up with nothing, or have any questions, reply back and we'll try to help you out.
