this is my old fox (1980 Notchback)....best damn car ive ever owned(built it from the ground up and i was always a chevy guy) you dont see these cars every day thats what makes it a classic to me.....not to mention it was 32 years old

.i love my 3rd gen but i cant consider it a classic just way too may of em i see at least 10 a day
I am not sure when the 79-93 Mustangs will be considered classics, but the 87-93 Stangs were so much better then the four eyed Stangs. The 5.0 HO was the epitome of cheap performance. One of my favorite cars is the Mustang LX convertible or notchback. from 87-93

The answer is now, or at least the start of it. I watched second gen values rise steadily from around 2001 and they've pretty much peaked. Third gens are next - the nice ones are already commanding good money. The POS ones will always be cheap. Buy the nicest one you can now and it will double in price in the next ten years. The further away from stock that you go, the less it will be worth.

I remember when "muscle cars" were hardly worth a thing. Lots of vinyl, spot welds, rust, and rattles. I bought a 68 Charger R/T in 1974 for 500 dollars, and it was in good condition. You couldn't even give away half of them. Who would have thought the muscle cars would gain the status they have now. What is the future for the third gens? I am not as pessimistic as some.

The 82-92 Fbodies and 78-93 Foxbodies are classics and will be widely adored once uncle sam outlaws gas guzzlers and V8 engines by instituting the shitty CAFE regs for cars even worse then what's coming in the near future. The higher the MPG ratings get pushed by the government the more people will flock to the 80's V8 sports cars.

When I see a fox or f body roll by I always think about how COOL they are. Beater or not.

I agree, they have to be 54.5 by the year 2025.
