I recently bought a 1992 Z28 that had the L98 and 700r4 obviously. She is originaly black and came with every opition minus t-tops. She sat for a few years in Florida with no motor, no tranny and no rear axle except a busted 3.27 posi. Which i know didnt come on the car, it came with a slightly smaller gear, not much I forget.

Now I proceeded to drop a pre-86 350 4 bolt (carb) in her, then put a 5 speed (world class/borg-warner) in. But grabbed a 2.73 non posi due to time and money. Not untill recenlty did I discover the RPO code and what all it is. The vin matches the sticker, and says the car came with the L98 AND the G92 option.

My question is, how come I dont EVER see any BLACK G92s? She has the 145mph speedo and Everything. But some goof on youtube thinks the G92 never came with a 350...but my RPO code says yes it did....explain for me please..I have always had almost base third gens..so I dont know what all this is. thanks

 

If the VIN on the spid matches the VIN on the car, and it has L98 + G92 then why question it? All 92 Z28s with the L98 got the G92 package. Youtube users seldom have a clue what they're talking about.

 

The reason you haven't seen any black G92 cars is the same reason you haven't seen any other G92 cars--because most thirdgens get beat/hacked so hard they are in the junkyards.
