I was Wondering if 1990 Trans Ams were supposed to have "Trans Am" decals
on the side fender behind the wheel.

Yup and a 90 wouldn't have black body moulding like that.

 

I don't think that's a 90 it looks like a 86 checkout the rubber spoiler.
I would say yes to the decals also.

 

I think Mantaguy is correct. Look at the URL for the image and it states it's a 1986 TA taken in 1990: "1986 Trans Am - side - at Protection Co. Annex - June 23, 1990.JPG". If so, the appearance of the car looks to be period correct.

 

I know I was using it as an example because it has the decals on.

He embedded a picture that was hosted off-site. Depending on the browser you're using, just Right-Click on the image and either select Properties (IE) to view the URL/Address of the image or select View Image Info (Firefox) to view the Location/URL/Address of the image.

The decals were used on 1990 T/As as well.

Are you asking about your own 1990? Additionally, dumb question here, but are you sure you have a T/A and not a GTA? I noticed you have listed 5.7L and that's not a very common engine in a T/A as it would be in the GTA. And if it's a GTA, it would not have those stickers (no "Trans Am" sticker nor "5.0L" sticker), but instead, a GTA badge on both front fenders, both quarter pillars, and front bumper cover.

 

I know all the GTA stuff and yes its my own T/A. but also yes I'm sure its just a T/A i have all the original documents that say it is at least.

Your mistaken the pic is not mine I used it to show were the decals where so you got the idea of what i was asking. mine is a '90

They only made 1056 1990 TAs man that's a keeper,got any photos.

It is. The PW7 rims do look correct as they don't appear to have the dimples (atleast best as can be seen with the limited size of the picture) and Charcoal color was an option. It also appears to have the LB9 due to the 5.0L F.I. sticker.

Would you be willing to post the SPID sticker? You can edit the VIN out if you prefer.

no that's a GTA(if you look really closley you can see the emblem. i have one good picture of the car, but i haven't gotten around to putting it on my computer yet

 

Mine has the fad dot stripe,I guess he took his off or it was deleted.and I think the black side molding is correct.

I can if you want.. I'm 110% sure its legit, until recently it had factory injectors, and brakes. plus i have every little scrap about this thing since the day the guy bought it. i can't do it today, as well.... its night, but i'll do it tommorow when i'm awake

 

yes already is red but clear coats peeling a little (on the roof its really bad). so i thought i'd touch it up. plus the fender needs it too. and a pesky leak is coming from there
