Hello all,

I am looking at an '89 camaro that is supposed to be an IROC. The rpo sticker is missing from under the center console. The engine is the LO3 305 VIN "E" with automatic trans. The steering wheel looks to be from a '90 IROC. The tail lights are correct as are all exterior badges and the hood/louvers. The emblem on the right side of thr dash only says "camaro." 5000 RPM redline tach. It also has t-tops, power seat and A/C. I have searched here and elsewhere for other ways to determine IROC or not but it seems without the RPO's it is very hard to determine.The only other clue I have is a VIN sticker under the hood on the front driver side that matches the VIN on the dash. What are your opinions on the car IROC or not?

 

Sounds like an RS with some IROC stuff or a base IROC with a switched dash emblem. It's an 89 with the airbag steering wheel? Does it have 15" IROC rims? Pictures?

 

Here is the craigslist add. thead says 1988, but according to the VIN it is an '89. It has been repainted but they painted over the IROC stickers on the back of the doors. Yes it has an air bag wheel. 16" IROC wheels, but the two on the back in the pics not IROC wheels just put on there for the tires so it can be driven. Needs transmission rebuild, weatherstripping, and major interior work. What do you think about the VIN sticker on the hood? It looks unmolested I don't thinl it has been removed and reinstalled unless they are very good.
