Hey all. I just finished decoding my 86 Z28 and got em all except for 3 codes. The are A4K, A4L, and 82P. I spent almost an hour searching and came up with nothing. Any help would be great. Its a Canadian model, by the way. Thanks!

I don't really know but I think it's kinda like a sales promotion thing.

 

One more thing....my cars origional colour is medium gray (WA-U7782) but it has an RPO 84U which is primary colour, exterior, Hawaiian Orchid. I'm puzzled?

 

Is WA-U7782 on your RPO code sheet.

 

yep. its at the very bottom. Both codes on same sheet.

 

Got me alsomy car is white but the both codes indicate white,do you have ground effects that should be another color.I have two codes L8554 and U8554 for paint codes I don't know what the L and the U mean

 

My car only has one code on the bottom. And I thought that 92 was the only year for Hawaiian Orchid paint. I even rechecked it a few times, and its definatly 84U. Maybe its a misprint or something.

 

Maybe,but they usually don't make mistakes on a RPO code list.

 

The car is Black now and was that way when I bought it. But it definatly was Gray. I've had the interior out and its all gray underneath. All color RPO's are #82, which is gray...except for that 84. In 1986, the code 84U was Medium Gray Metallic. The RPO code was reused by GM and most RPO decoders are incorrect. The L and U represent Lower and Upper.

 

Thank you. I kind of figured but wasn't sure. When I searched the paint code U7782, it said that the code was 84. And I knew about the Upper/Lower codes. But I was going by the RPO decoders on various sites. Thanks again. I can sleep now. lol

 

You mean the decoder is incorrect,not the RPO code list, right!!!
