Hello everyone. Im doing body work on my car right now like filling dings and blocksanding. In a few months i will have it painted the orginal color. The only issue is that i dont know the paint code, or the color name the car was originally.

The center console had to be swapped out from the PO because the vin on the RPO sticker doesnt match the vin on the car. The car is a 1986 Sport Coupe, base model with a 305 and 700r4. The color is a gray with a little bit of sparkle in the paint if you look close, not just a basic gray.

I know this is the original color because the car is currently torn down and all the interior metal and jambs are the same color. Could anybody tell me the name or possible color code of this paint? I would post a pic, but im on my phone right now and cannot upload. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

 

I remember reading a thread a while back that said there is body trim tag somewhere on the radiator support frame that has the paint code and other body trim info. Might try a search for "paint code location" for more info.

 

Not sure if you have great paint suppliers like we do here in Middle Tn, but here, they have all that info at the paint store. You tell them what you got, and they can access that info and stir it up for you.
