Export Model Codes
My 1989 Firebird was built in Sept 88 and exported to Europe. Does anyone out there know where it would have been exported to? The delivery location is given as CNSL.
I do not have the full build sheet, but one of the job schedule sheets?? Under ZK3 is EXP. What is ZK3 and does EXP mean export?
Finally at the top of the sheet is a DP number (021508), and a Dept/Group number 17-70-70.
Any help with what this all means would be much appreciated.

Re: Export Model Codes
The ZK3 is related to the car being exported. My GM book, which only lists the definition of this RPO code for 82-88, shows it's related to the interior of exports. Understand that GM recycled RPO codes so that definition may not be a 100% accurate for your 1989 as it doesn't cover ZK3 for 1989.
Regarding the CNSL and Dept/Group, that is part of the job schedule sheet and not related to where the car was actually sent to after assembly. It's one of many job schedule sheets used. In addition to CNSL, there was V33, Trim, Cush, I/P, etc.

Re: Export Model Codes
The RPO code ZK3 is defined as the following, per my GM book:
"PACKAGE, INTERIOR (SPECIAL) (EXPORT)"
It is not a company to contact. RPOs are equipment options or descriptions. I'm not sure exactly what it means beyond the description above. Additionally, as I mentioned above, because GM recycles RPO codes and since the definition above states it's for 1982-1988 GM models, it's possible the above description is not 100% accurate for your 1989 application. However, given it follows GM's RPO code group conventions, and because your own documentation where ZK3 has "EXP" (generally short for Export), I'm pretty sure it is "Export".
