Re: 1988 Firebird Formula Rear Spoiler Repair
Just got back in Austin with the car, my boss drove down with me to get it. Was stuck in 3 traffic jams in I-35 coming back from San Antonio, it was 106* to 108* in the shade at mid afternoon, and there was no shade. The car ran fine, even the A/C worked, thank god. More later, got to get back to work.

Congrats. It's a very good sign if you made it through traffic and high speed Interstate motoring without any drama. Take lots of high resolution pics and post them up. Guys on this site can spot minute details about condition and previous work done that you might want to be aware of now that you own it.

corgrats on the buy. I always wanted a formula 350 but they are becoming a little scarce. As mentioned before with the spoiler go to www.hawksthirdgenparts.com and get the fiberglass stock replacement one, I have had it and it went right on and didn't have a spoiler paint issue again. Just make sure you get the one for your year set, 91-92 are different.
Now that you have bought it....Drive to Jersey sell it to me lol j/k

Well, I wouldn't say was with no drama. It being nearly a quarter of a century old and a completely unknown car to me, I was a bit nervous and apprehensive the whole trip. It was especially nerve racking in the 3 traffic jams when when I was watching the temp. gauge rise as I was sitting on the pavement surrounded by idling 18 wheelers with the "official" air temp. in the mid to upper 100degs. I thinking the air temp was well over 110* on the road, the gauge climbed to 240-245* and held for the 20 to 30 mins. I was stopped or barely creeping along. Never got to the red zone, but close enough to worry me.
Anyway, the drive back wore me out and then I had a pile of stuff to deal with when I got back to work, worked late but did manage to make it by the car wash to get some of the dirt and bird doo off it.
I took some quick photos just before dark and posted them in another thread " Got My First 3rd Gen Home Today."

I would be interested in some good seats but I'm not going to have a lot of money left for anything right now. Still got to pay the sales tax and title transfer on her. If you could PM me with what your friend wants for the seats, that would be good. If you could get him to email me some photos of them, that would be even better. If the price is right, I could make a trip up to Dallas with my truck this weekend to get them.
