US and Export Specs

Hi Everyone

What was the difference (if any) between specifications for cars destined for the US and cars exported elsewhere ie Canada.
I have a 1989 Firebird that was built / exported immediately to Europe and it would be good to know if the basic spec was different to that of the US.

Re: US and Export Specs

i know some cars when built for export were shipped with the catalytic convertor in the hatch and a test pipe fitted in its place, but im not sure what year they stopped that.leaded fuel destroys a cat,and im pretty sure they had a different tune in the computer

Not sure what you mean by a different tune in the computer.
Unleaded fuel was available in Europe by the late 80's
