Hi All ~ I am looking at this car I found on CraigsList. Can you give me your opinion on what it is worth? Thanks.

Hard to tell with no interior or engine pix...needless to say, being where the car is (WI), I would be more worried about rust than anything else. If there's rust showing in the wheelwells, I'm willing to bet there's more serious rust that you can't see without having the car up in the air. That would be my main concern.

I'm assuming the air conditioning system was completely removed, which would be a deal breaker for me, but then again I'm in Atlanta. Perhaps it doesn't get too hot up there to not have A/C in the summer.

If the engine compartment and interior look stock and not all hacked up, and the car doesn't have serious rust, then I don't think his asking price would be too far off from what the car's worth.

He did say that the driver side seat is missing one bolt due to rust. He wrote: "One issue I forgot to mention with the drivers seat, one of the 4 spots where the seat mounts to the floor, the bracket the seat is supposed to bolt onto is rusted out. That means the seat is mounted on just 3 of the corners. The seat wiggles a little because of this, but its never really been a problem for me." What is your opinion on that?

I just picked up an 86 IROC with almost no rust. Even the T-top rail is almost completely intact. How costly is it to repair/replace wheel wells? I've had 3 mechanics look at my 86 and they were both amazed by how little rust is on it. I'm hoping the same it true with this one. I realize now that I paid too much for the 86, so that is why I am posting for help. Thanks again!!

 

The engine has been replaced with a 350,car came with 305.the hood is correct.fixing holes in the floor not cheap.You probably should put it on a lift and just see how much rust is under there,like navy02 said.

Provided no rust issues it's probably worth about what he's asking for it. I don't think you can expect much more than a complete beater for 2,500 so 2,800 seems fair enough. The parts on it alone are probably worth more than that.

Of course, more pix would be nice. I wonder what his replaced interior looks like. If it's stock, that's good. If it's **** sheepskin, maybe not so much.
